MOOMBA FESTIVAL
The Task
Introduction:
We partnered up with City of Melbourne in March 2024 to capture the official event photography for Australia’s largest community festival, Moomba. Over the course of five days we were tasked with capturing event programming, participants (talent, performers, audience), and the overall atmosphere across various locations in Melbourne. Wild carnival rides, mind blowing water-sports, skating, BMX, fireworks and amazing activations.

The Challenge:
Capture multiple simultaneous events across a large festival area
Deliver < 1 hour turnarounds for key events for PR Releases
Acquire release forms for any public that featured in photos
Solution:
Our team, comprising three photographers, multiple producers and an on-site editor, collaborated closely to deliver the project efficiently. Through extensive pre-production planning, each team member was assigned specific events and shot lists, enabling us to cover multiple events simultaneously and deliver high-quality photos within short turnaround times.
Our agile production methods also allow us to quickly adapt to changing conditions and event cancellations during the festival due to extreme heat.
